Syria: threats against AlJazeera Staff to silence the truth

According to an internal, anonymous source, the Syrian government has been pressuring Al Jazeera team in Damascus and their staff of Syrian nationality in Doha, threatening them and their families. Their goal, of course, is to silence the truth by pushing the dedicated AlJaz team to resign or leave the country.

It is very important to support them and to say out loud that the government must stop the harassment to them.

Reliable, objective information is primordial for a strong democracy, freedom of speech includes the right to seek and receive such information and ideas without the interference or filters of any authority.

Fear and threats are not the solution to silence massive abuses, the solution is to stop abusing citizens and ignoring the rule of law. If the Syrian government silences professional journalists then the truth will be out there reported by citizen journalists. There is no possibility to hide the facts.
